Common questions
How do I color?
Pick a color at the bottom of the screen, then touch the room. With the brush 🖌️ you paint freely; with the fill tool 🪣 one tap colors a whole shape. Paint always stays inside the black lines.
With an Apple Pencil, the Pencil paints and your finger turns the room.
How do I turn or zoom the room?
Use two fingers: move them together to turn the room, pinch to zoom. You can also pick the hand tool ✋ to move with one finger. The ⌂ button brings the camera back to the starting view.
How do I undo a mistake?
Tap the ↶ undo button in the toolbar. The eraser 🧽 removes paint from one spot.
How do I start a room over?
Press and hold the trash button 🗑 for about a second and a half, then confirm. The long press is there on purpose, so little hands don’t wipe a finished room by accident. This can’t be undone.
Is my child’s artwork saved?
Yes — automatically, as you color, on the device itself. The menu shows a picture of each room and stars for how much has been colored. Deleting the app also deletes the drawings.
Can I move drawings to another iPad?
Not directly: Dioramo keeps everything on the device and has no accounts or cloud sync. Restoring a full device backup onto a new iPad or iPhone usually brings the drawings along.
How do I turn off the music?
Tap the ♪ button in the top corner. The music also stays quiet when the device’s silent switch is on.
Does Dioramo need the internet? Does it collect data?
No and no. It works fully offline, has no ads, no analytics and no accounts. See the privacy policy.
